The only time I could pretty much buy almost anything I tried on was a short period when I lived in LA, ran 5 miles 4 times per week and went dancing every weekend. Sob. Sniffle.

Oh well.Kathrynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16388107764837538301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31461418.post-1164990595188942572006-12-01T11:29:00.000-05:002006-12-01T11:29:00.000-05:00Don't feel too discouraged about the clothes - eve...Don't feel too discouraged about the clothes - even MODELS and superstars get their clothes altered. I have to buy pants to fit my hips and the waist is always too big. Jackets are difficult as well. They may fit in the torso but are too tight (or too short) in the arms. The sizing must be done by men or models - definitely not for real women!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31461418.post-1164079263001554742006-11-20T22:21:00.000-05:002006-11-20T22:21:00.000-05:00Jacqui,Great minds think alike. I was thinking just that when I wrote my clarification - if you have more than one and you bring a toy they fight and don't necessarily keep themselves occupied. Ah - I guess if we are blessed with another child that is one thing that won't surprise me! The lesson: shopping with kids in general should be avoided at all costs. I swear, these little mother daughter pairs I saw, with the girls in the carts, were just miserable. It was like toddler prison and torture and the mothers were not so happy either.

Sigh.. remember when you could go and shop for as long as you wanted whenever you wanted? Such are the sacrifices of a mother. Though come to think of it, the clothes didn't fit me any better. Oh well.

Hope you are doing well.Kathrynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16388107764837538301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31461418.post-1164078058325230492006-11-20T22:00:00.000-05:002006-11-20T22:00:00.000-05:00You are so right about trying to get out of the sh...You are so right about trying to get out of the shop with the same number of kids that you came in with! (You must have met my boys somewhere) I'm not sure they keep each other occupied. They seem to fight a lot. But if I gave them a toy, then they would fight over it. The joys of motherhood! Better off leaving them at home.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31461418.post-1163951584677101482006-11-19T10:53:00.000-05:002006-11-19T10:53:00.000-05:00Hi Jacqui, I should clarify. I think when there are two or more kids, they have each other as sources of entertainment and it is way more than enough for a parent to just keep track of their kids without worrying about toys. As a mom of one I know it is easier keeping track of one kid and quite feasible to bring a toy or two along. But with more than one, I think you are lucky to get out of the store with the same number of kids you brough in!

Yes - the escalator thing made me really sad for that little girl, she was really cute and clearly trying to keep up with mom.Kathrynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16388107764837538301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31461418.post-1163930693132762792006-11-19T05:04:00.000-05:002006-11-19T05:04:00.000-05:00*Sigh* Shopping with three boys is just a nightmar...*Sigh* Shopping with three boys is just a nightmare. i only attempt it if I'm alone. (I can also relate on the nightmare of finding clothes for my body type - I'm 6 foot 2" and aparently girls aren't supposed to grow taller than 5 foot 11")

Sad about the kid on the escalator. I'm absolutely paranoid about escalators as I was once shopping (years ago) when a little girl lost the tip of her fingers when they got caught in the grate at the bottom. Luckily a quick thinking passer by pushed the emergency button otherwise it would have been a lot worse.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
