Happy 4th Birthday Ellie!

Ellie was born on a rainy Saturday, just like today, November 9 in Los Angeles at 3:01pm. Holding Hands With MamaShe weighed 2.9 pounds and was 14 inches long - which is considered big for a 27 weeker.

Here are some pictures to give you some idea of how far along she has come from those first scary days four years ago.

Pictures left to right from the top: Day 2 of life: holding hands with Mama through the isolet; 2 months and 4 days old breathing on her own; first time being held by Mama at two weeks old; First time being held by Dada at one month old; Ellie in her Step-N-Play at 18 months; Ellie and her Auntie Sue at 2; Ellie and Mama Easter 2005, Big four year old girl, Ellie, and Mama November 9 reading while waiting for casts.

thanks terrible palsy! I am really proud if not in complete awe of her. I checked out your site - your boys are beautiful. I am up late getting ready for Ellie's birthday party but will go back and take a look. It looks like you are doing a ton of therapies and great work with them!

I hope the party went well. It's our turn next week as Master C turns 4 (as a sibling to a special needs child he is in desparate need of an 'all about me' day). Who knew that throwing birthdat parties could be so stressful!

Hi Terrible Palsy,

Thanks. The party went really well because we made it about Ellie and got everyone on board on doing things a little differently. As a result, she had a GREAT day! She fell asleep tired but contented. I am going to write about it in my next post. Very good to give you little Master C an all about him day! Good luck with that!

Hi Kathryn,

I was just reading your old posts and saw that you are doing the Scotson technique. After reading about it, it seems to be a lot like ABR (we don't have the scotson technique here). We do seem to be mirror images of each other.

You sound so positive about the Scotson Technique in your previous posts. How many hours do you spend on it a day?

Take care,
Jacqui
