Wild Blue Yonder

Hello and Happy New Year! We have been to the mountains visiting my sister and now we are off to Ireland for a family wedding and England for more therapy at Advance for Ellie.

I am hoping to catch up with myself there and share some of the more interesting observations and pics from Christmas and our travels. Dave and I decided to take a huge step towards greater intimacy by sharing one lap top for the entire trip. I know, I know, it's batshit insane and could result in divorce or the death of one of us or somebody losing an eye. But it has to be done. Minimizing the amount of crap we have to schlep across the Atlantic is definitely a higher priority than marital bliss. Giving us the benefit of the doubt for being rational adults who will be able to share said lap top, I should be posting again soon. If I don't post soon, you know that my man has won the lap top armwrestle and I am tied to a chair so he can surf cyberspace in peace. Ahhhh togetherness, there's nothing better.

Wow Ireland, I've never been and would love to go. And I tell you what I think is batshit insane - you're flying all the way over here for therapy for Ellie. I'm guessing it's good stuff?! Hope you get a chance to have some fun whilst on your travels too.

Hi Emma,

It is good stuff and it's in East Grinstead. If you live near by we could come and visit you! Everytime I go to England I get choked up like I am coming home. Isn't that weird? But it's way warmer than where we live too and much more green and you guys have Neros. Best place for evil bad caffeine in the world.

Ellie had her first flight across the US at 8 months. She is a world travellor and really good at it. I think from her perspective it's great because she has her Mama and Dada at her beck and call and with in close proximity 24/7.

I hope you have a happy New Year!

Hi Kathryn,

Have a great trip and take lots of pictures! I hope that all goes well for Ellie! Thanks for the cute pictures of Ellie that you sent with the Christmas card. They are posted on the back of my front door along with all the other Christmas cards! I hope you got the package I sent, that you liked your gift, and that Ellie liked all the flowers I made for her.

Let me know if Ellie will need a pillow for her wheelchair - I have a really cute crochet pattern for a crocheted flower pillow that I think she would like. Have a safe trip and drop me a line once in a while.

Love,
Maureen

It worked!!
You are the first blogger I read. We too have a girl with cp, she will be 5 in March and is starting school in 2 days. I came across your blogg while looking for people's experiences with botox as our daughter will have this in her adductors and hamsrings in 2 weeks for the first time. It is interesting that you have come to the UK fro treatment. We live in Essex, UK and have spent a lot of time at the Peto institute in Budapest with good results.
How long are you in england for?

Sorry I am posting this as anonymous but haver not figured the other way of doing it yet!!
