In the clear

We are home. Ellie is fine, though very tired. No meninigitis ever grew in the cultures and Ellie's ear infection has been more than descimated. More later after we have all had a bit of a rest.

Thanks to everyone for all their good will, thoughts and prayers. It all helps and now we are home.

Also, Happy Birthday to Dave the best husband and the best father for her children a girl could ever want!

Whew! Get some rest and eat some takeout favorites for Dave's birthday. No cooking, unless that's fun and relaxing for you. Please, take good care of yourselves, you're bound to be beat after such a scare.

Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. I held my breath the entire way through your last post. Ugh. It is still sorta hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that these are not just words on a screen--but they are someone's real life....Brave Ellie..Brave Momma

Hi- I posted a while back about energy healing and can't remember what I said, so here is possibly redundant advice on that-

My 25 weeker was also born at Cedars and was ultimately diagnosed with- severe reflux necessitating specially compounded meds to at least age 2, severe apraxia where she was not expected to ever speak in her life, mental retardation, borderline dwarfism needing growth hormones in a few years. Maybe there's more, its kind of a blur.

Anyway, fast forward to 2 1/2 and she is COMPLETELY HEALED. Her expressive speech is at the 4 year old level, she's over 50th percentile in height, no meds or reflux, and extremely bright (to the extent that I'm already being guided by the dev. ped. for gifted schools, etc.).

We did energy healing. Therapies too, but they were over a while ago when she caught up. I genuinely think the energy healing changed EVERYTHING.

I don't want to turn this into a novel, but want to explain a few key things. The shunts are foreign objects in her head. Energy healers work on calibrating the energy of the foreign objects to your daughter's own. They did that with my child's PDA and the amazing thing is the healer didn't know it was there. She stopped cold and was like "there's a foreign object here"...it was amazing (kid was clothed).

Your child needs this type of calibration so that the shunts become integrated into her body and not fought against as foreign.

You have to get her regular acupuncture to keep moving the (energy) blockages out. The meds. are keeping her natural energy/ability to heal neutralized.

We used a lightworker style of energy healing. Its more intense than cranio-sacral, which is fine, but not powerful enough.

You have to find someone who lays hands over her body and moves light into blockages or problem areas. Its very important. That type of healing doesn't really have a formal name, but thats what she HAS to have.

I just remembered it also cured our kid of the ROP too. She was off all meds and reflux cured in 2 months. Docs kept using the word miracle, but its using the tools of the universe to your advantage.

Anyway, also spend free moments (yeah, right- right?) having prayer groups and energy healing groups over the internet work on your child. My goal was 50 requests a day. Any religion, whatever. Its a type of energy too being focused on your child's healing.

Lastly, if you can afford to bring in a college student or whatever who is really positive and not connected to what is going on emotionally, it really helps bring a new energy dynamic to your child within the home.

Oh, forgot. Get "move your stuff, change your life" (something like that) by Karen Rauch Carter. Feng shui your house and esp. her room.

Thats the stuff we did. Hope it helps. I beg you to get energy healing. Even if you don't belief, you will see the changes.

Anon - Ok - you have me. I think I am going to try it. I really hope you come back an see this response because I have some questions. First - so these folks are called Energy Healers? Just not sure where to start or how to find one.

Also - how do you know a good one form a bad? Is there some sort of place where they are trained like how upledger institute trains the cranial sacrel folks?

Also, how many sessions did you have before you saw positive changes in your kid?

You know you are the second person to tell me of this and how it helped their child. I used to live with a woman and tuter her daughter who was a former micro preemie- way back when I was in my early twenties - weird huh? or not.

But her daughter was not making it in the NICU. She started to get hydrocephalus and was dying - so the woman brought in an energy healer and now her daughter, though she has severe dyslexia is fine and wonderful.

I have often wished I stayed in touch with them to ask her more about this. At the time I was clueless about what that actually meant.

Any more information would be much appreciated. Especially if you could give me your person's information becaue they may know someone who does the same work in the Boston area.

Also- i have that book and have started to do that work with clearing the house. I believe in energy flow. I can feel it when it's stagnent or blocked in myself and in the house. I guess like so much else it's much harder to make the decision what to subject Ellie to. But - I do know that it won't hurt her only help her. I guess my other fear is not finding a good person and wasting all our resources on someone who isn't the genuine article so to speak.

Thanks so much for your comment. I hope you read this response.

Hi- Its good you're going to try energy healing and I'm glad my kid's story helped.

We saw 2 people- Nicole Pigeault and Kapitula Lloyd. They both have websites (google the 1st one and the other is kapitula.com- or used to be).

Why I ended with these 2 in finding quality people is that they were both genuine, sincere, made me feel at ease, traveled the country to go to seminars and continuing ed., and had a big client base.

They were familiar and trained with many healing modalities and were not rigid in their approach, arrogant, controlling. They also had an intuitive sense about things, would share that, be right (always!), but not have a God complex.

Nicole uses a Scion (sx? fx?). It is a very powerful energy healing/computer thing. I thought it was total bs at the time, but as it would come up with things that THEN I'd insist MDs test for (which they hadn't thought of, and it would be RIGHT), then I realized its true. Its hard to believe at first, though. I figured the intuition/psychic stuff and prayer covered the cost.

The machine will pop up health issues- (take notes) and clear them while you're there (it took 2 months to clear the reflux 1-2 times a week). I'm seeing her in 2 Sundays and will ask about Boston. Like I said, she travels the US in constant training and knows the best.

Kapitula does remote healings but I don't recommend it for someone with your kid's level of need. You need hands on. I found her through asking around. She's trained in basically everything and we saw her as she saw fit- the way an MD would recommend. I didn't get with THAT program until I started seeing results. About a month in. Then it was 1-3x a week, depending. That lasted for about 5 or 6 months.

I did have the experience of someone well regarded who was a total idiot bordering on fraud. She was a nurse/energy healer- famous in Santa Monica. How I knew is that her own stuff was interfering. You have to get really instinctual about it. If they're being really bossy but it seems to be coming from ego/control issues, then move on. The true healers kind of let themselves go while being totally in tune with themselves and are purely focused on the kid.

Unfortunately, its like trying on shoes. You've gotta have a couple on to get a baseline on what works for you.

In a nutshell- passionate, not money driven, empathic, intuitive, competent without controlling. A super nice office is a sign (to me) that its not about the healing. A crappy office is too. Kapitula did house calls. Very convenient!

As for acupuncture, ours is an MD too. Its great because she had the true knowledge, not the Bryman level knowledge, to address the issues in an integrated, educated way. If you can't find an MD who does it, find someone who has trained/done post work in China. Thats how you spot the passionate ones from the one step away from dental assistant school instead.

I hope thats a start. I am going to ask the above people about who they admire in the area and will post back to you about what they said.
